The modern BGPView alternative, with a live map of the internet.
BGPView shut down on November 26, 2025. BGP Live is a free, real-time alternative for ASN lookup, prefix visibility, and BGP routing analysis - with an interactive globe showing what's happening right now across the internet's routing fabric.
Open the live map →What you get
- Real-time BGP activity - announcements, withdrawals, route changes, and origin changes stream live over WebSocket.
- Live incident detection - RPKI-invalid routes, BGP hijacks, flapping prefixes, and route leaks surface the moment they're detected.
- ASN lookup and peering explorer - inspect any autonomous system's upstreams, downstreams, tier classification, and announced prefixes.
- IPv4 and IPv6 - both protocols, color-coded throughout.
- Graph and globe views - force-directed relationship map or geographic view of the routing graph.
- Free forever - no signup required, no rate limits for reasonable browsing use.

Migrating from BGPView
BGPView users will feel at home - the core workflow (look up an ASN, inspect its prefixes and peers, check RPKI validity) is preserved and extended. Three things are new:
- Context, not just data. BGP Live shows the routing graph visually, so you can see an ASN's tier and how it connects to the rest of the internet in one glance.
- Now, not yesterday. Updates arrive within seconds of RouteViews / RIS seeing them - not on an hourly cron.
- Incidents inline. If something's wrong - RPKI-invalid announcement, origin hijack, flapping route - it's flagged on the map, not buried in a report.
FAQ
Is BGPView coming back?
No. The site shut down on November 26, 2025, and bgpview.io now redirects to bgp.tools. Existing bookmarks will not resolve to the old data.
Is BGP Live really free?
Yes. Interactive use of the map and all ASN / prefix views are free and don't require an account. IPTruth offers a paid product for teams that need alerting, historical data, and an API for automation.
What about bgp.tools and bgp.he.net?
bgp.tools is excellent for text-forward ASN and prefix lookup and bgp.he.net is a long-standing industry staple. BGP Live is complementary: it's built around the live map and incident feed - the things neither of those tools prioritize.
Who built this?
BGP Live is built and operated by IPTruth - a team focused on routing security and internet visibility.
